international schooling for aquaculture
The International Schooling for Aquaculture- program (ISFA) was founded in 2005, when we became aware, that owner and their employees partly needed support in the running of a full circulation system, as well as in the reproduction around the year and the fish fattening.
Since 1995 Fischgut Primus offers lessons and training for the interested individual and skilled fish workers in single- and group workshops with the emphasis on fish farming and running recirculation systems.
We started then 2005 to hold special intensive courses for the production manager and/or responsible member of staff of the aquacultures constructed by Fischgut Primus Anlagenbau GmbH. To stick as closely as possible to praxis, the training is held in the highly modern Reproduction- and fattening facilities of Fischgut Primus and Zierfisch Primus.
Because of a heightened demand these programs are opened to everybody since 2008. We offer you support in analyzing, solving and correction of problems in the field of recirculation, reoccurring fish losses and fish growth problems of different species in the different systems.
The Schooling program is held in intensive courses of 2 to 3 weeks. The student is undergoing a customized and for him/her personally worked out intensive workshop in a functional recirculation system. The individual training sessions can amount to 10 hours a day.
The education starts with normal operation of a modern recirculation system to experience the daily routine of a fish engineer specialized in recirculation technology. Especially in a recirculation system the detection and prophylaxis of illnesses is an important field of expertise therefore we start with the instruction parallel to the former.
Great relevance for the fish farms has the determination of the sex and of the maturity of the fishes e.g. the sturgeon.
After determining the sex we teach the reproduction as an integral part of our program, to secure the year round production of fish. Especially when handling species difficult to reproduce a thorough education is the guaranty for a functioning aquaculture. The reproduction techniques particularly for sturgeon are posing serious difficulties to most biologists and fish engineers. without the proper education in this sector there would be no functional reproduction in time.
Special extra courses about e.g. the treatment of tumors (particularly on Koi carp), the marking of fish or the storage of sperm over a longer period of time can be booked at ISFA according to the acuteness and the needs of the client.
Fischgut Primus teaches not only this but offers the processing of different fish species, too. From slaughtering to refinement of fish products (smoking), or the preparation of fish specialties in the fish restaurant Primus can be part of your schooling program if you wish. It would also be possible to include the Caviar production, processing and canning.
The student can be awarded with a certificate for the special courses that he partakes here in the individual companies. Mr Lothar Primus himself was awarded a couple of certificates and diploma for aquaculture the most recent from Banat Sturio for construction and consulting an sturgeon aquaculture.
On special request the schooling-program can be held in the current or soon to be aquaculture of the attendee to ISFA-Program, especially in the regard of problems with the system this proofed to be practical.
