In 1926 the former general director of Thyssen built the Fischgut Bräke into the picturesque Grünertal in Iserlohn. The complex was used for the breeding of salmonids.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well into the fifties this business was a prosperous one. Through a number of sales and changes of the proprietor it became quiet around the fishfarm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lothar Primus, born 01.12.1965 in Iserlohn, is fishfarmer by nature. In 1987 he took over the fishfarm in Iserlohn, wich was unused in parts at that time. In the first years his main goal was to refurbish the ponds for salmonid production and for selling fish, smoked and non-smoked, for the market directly in Iserlohn. 1991 another farm was rented in Hövelhof as a branch for producing fish. To raise the production and to gradually expand the array of products, he started to breed salmon and the first sturgeons. After fabulous results in the breeding processes of some sturgeon species, the breeding was expanded to incorporate ornamental fish especially Koi-carp.

The success made it necessary to reconstruct the farm into one of the most modern recirculationsystems in 1997. The reconstruction was finished in 2002 with a functional System for the production of sturgeon.

 

 

 

 

 

In 2003 a hall for presenting Koi-carp to our customers was built at the site in Iserlohn.

In 2005 was the construction of a new recirculation system with a water volume of 1 Mio ltr. necessary, because of an expansion of the sturgeon production.

The system took up its activity in 2006. At the same time Fischgut Primus started in a new business area: the design and construction of aquaculture systems, especially recirculation systems.

 

 

 

 

 

With the opening of the fish restaurant with integrated sale of fish delicatessen, under the management of Marion Primus, Lothar Primus finished his marketing concept: from the production to the consumer.
